SLIDE14Totally recognisable because of its innovative look, Giotto is the oven designed by Geico that is circular and not, as is customary, rectangular or square. Its ground-breaking shape allows the assembly operations to be optimised and the surfaces of the curved sides to be exploited as functional parts of the oven that contribute to improving the distribution of hot air within the oven and on the body.

The circular shape is simple and makes cleaning easy, whilst the smaller dispersal surface, compared to the classic sections of ovens, allows heat losses to be reduced resulting also in plants consuming less energy.

SLIDE11Dryflex is a new design of oven that incorporates the highest heat transmission efficiency of catalytic panels with the traditional transmission of heat by convection, in order to optimise baking and temperature uniformity on the body.

Dryflex is capable of reducing energy consumption and the length of the ovens through its infrared baking system with gas catalytic panels thanks to which, because they are located in the first area of the oven, can transmit increased energy efficiently to the body, reducing the transit time and therefore the oven’s overall length.

With this solution, which exploits the discharge of energy in the infrared emission spectrum, it is possible to reduce the temperature rise times by more than 15%.

Dryflex ensures less initial thermal inertia of the oven, thus significantly reducing energy consumption. The smaller exchange surfaces and greater heat transfer efficiency guarantee reduced dispersion.

Moreover, the fact that there is less air moving around the initial section of the oven reduces the possibility of dirt particles being deposited on the painted surface when not yet dry.

SLIDE12Speedry, or the infrared baking system with infrared catalytic gas panels, is particularly suited for use in the high production capacity retouch zones. A simple, modular system, its quick drying process and high energy transmission efficiency ensures reduced energy consumption.

It is capable of offering so many advantages: first and foremost, it has the capacity to reduce baking times and consumption rates, and reducing the plant’s start-up times, because of the possibility of only intervening on those parts involved in the retouch.

In an independent structure some catalytic panels that emit energy within the infrared spectrum can follow the contour of the body and proceed with the baking of small to medium-sized painted surfaces.

slide1The ELENE (ELastic ENergy Ecology) oven is capable of adapting to the operating length in relation to the required production, which inevitably is feeling the effects of market demand; it may therefore be that plants are commissioned for planned production but actually produce a smaller number of bodies.

The E3 oven option allows the oven’s ventilation and its length to be adjusted to that actually required for the production that is in progress.

When switching from planned production to something less, the number of heating assemblies in operation and their set-points can be altered in order to have only the number of machines operating that are required for baking the number of bodies actually processed, resulting in significant energy saving.

This solution appears particularly appealing if combined with the ELENE booth solution.

slide7This is particularly suitable for treating high volumes and low concentrations the RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser) is an incineration system that is suitable for high volumes and low concentrations, created using centralised solutions, normally integrated with the post-recovery of heat for the reduction of traditional energy carriers (like, for example, hot water).

slide16RTO is an incinerator system devised for the reduction of VOC emissions originating from the evaporation of paints inside the booth. It is particularly suitable for treating high volumes and low concentrations and is created using centralised solutions, normally integrated with the post-recovery of heat for the reduction of traditional energy carriers. The use of ceramic infills with a greater specific exchange surface makes it possible to achieve thermal efficiencies of up to 98% with the subsequent reduction in consumptions.

slide126The recovery of excess energy, therefore reducing consumption on energy carriers, is something that Geico has always set itself as an objective, given that it has always made the environment its top priority.

It is for this reason that it has come up with different solutions, using circuits with air/water exchangers for the recovery of the heat present in the fumes expelled.

The system can be fitted onto any ducting that carries hot fumes; it can be used in particular as the last point of heat recovery in the flue of a thermal oxidiser (RTO or ITO).

SLIDE111The handling of bodies is one of the most important and, at the same time, delicate operations inside ovens. It is precisely for this reason that Geico has devised versatile systems that can adapt with ease and flexibility to specific needs.

Worthy of a mention, without any doubt, is the table conveyor that can be considered a development of the modular skid conveyor systems (sequence of tables) generally used for connecting the different areas of a paintshop. Its strengths include its flexibility of movement, modularity, maintainability and simple mechanical installation.

The high temperatures, and therefore the environment in which the tables are situated, require special protections and measures for the both mechanical and electrical components (in general the tables’ motor is located outside of the oven).

chain_slide1300This is a conveyor system that allows bodies to be handled inside spraying booths with a continuous movement. It is a simple, well-established system that is also reliable and easy to maintain.

This conveyor is essentially a double chain onto which the bodies on skids are placed at a normal or variable pitch, and it advances at a fixed speed that determines the cycle time.

Geico can provide a range of versions of this conveyor system which vary in the length of the oven (single or double chain) and in terms of lubrication (i.e. self-lubricating chain or featuring sophisticated lubrication systems which ensure minimal release).

Gieco can also produce stop and go chain conveyors for booth ovens.

slide122This is a new design of conveyor in which the skid used for transporting the body through the different paint processes has been totally redesigned and re-engineered: It has in fact been minimised and replaced with resting points or appropriately designed cross beams.

The system ensures fewer spillages and reduced pollution of the baths in the dipping processes. Moreover, the smaller skid surfaces reduce the quantity of paint or dirt deposited on them, with positive effects on the painting process. The baking process also benefits from the characteristics of the Skidless conveyor, because the smaller metallic mass entering the ovens in turn reduces energy consumption.

slide123This conveyor system allows bodies to be handled inside the Canopy ovens and those with internal curves. Geico’s vast experience in the field of conveyors represents continuity when it comes to those models manufactured by Haden.

These are conveyors, with a single central chain, that travel along a lower path and to which “pins” are connected and to which the skids that support the bodies are “hooked” and “unhooked”.

This type of conveyor is capable of pulling very high loads and can cope with the vertical and horizontal curves that are typical of the Canopy ovens. It is a simple, well-established system which is also reliable and easy to maintain.
